His Mercy

I've recently had to learn a tough lesson but a good one. My life had spiraled out of control. I had got to the point that I had lost my faith and turned my back on God. Of course, being a human, I thought God had forsaken me. It took hitting rock bottom for me to finally look up.

A small group of wonderful people reminded me of who I am. When I went back to the road I had veered off of....there God was. He was waiting on me right where I had left him. He wrapped his arms around me and covered me in his grace and mercy. James chapter 5 tells us that God is full of tender mercy.

God's mercy endures forever. We leave the covering of mercy when we try to walk our own path rather than the one he has set before us. "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord" Psalms 37:23. He has a plan for each of us. All we have to do is walk in his mercy. He will show us the way. How do we know we are going the right direction? He gave us a road map. Through the Bible and prayer, God will lead us. We just have to trust him.

It all looks good on paper I know but sometimes it's not so easy in life. God understands. When one door closes, another opens. He will lead you and direct your path. God's love for us can't be measured. He sent his only son to be a sacrifice for each one of us, to die on the cross. "Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ" Galatians 4:7. He has made us his sons and daughters. We are heirs of God. YOU ARE NOT YOUR PAST! What is old has been made new. We only have to trust him and walk in... His Mercy.
